Nachiket Patel, MD
Interventional Cardiology
An Illinois native, Dr. Patel is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology. He specializes in the treatment of coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
Dr. Patel began his medical journey by completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and earning his Doctor of Medicine with a distinction in research from Chicago Medical School. He then completed his internal medicine residency at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, followed by a cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. He further advanced his training with an interventional cardiology fellowship at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, where he received specialized training in peripheral and endovascular interventions.
Dr. Patel believes that a well-rounded physician not only provides exceptional patient care but also contributes to medical education and research. He serves as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix and has authored over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is also the principal investigator of the TORUS-2 Clinical Trial, which studies a new type of stent for treating peripheral artery disease, and the RESTOR-1 Study, which examines a device designed to open fully occluded arteries in the legs. Having witnessed firsthand the challenges of heart disease within his own family, he is deeply committed to helping patients understand their conditions and develop personalized treatment plans that integrate procedures, medications, and lifestyle changes to ensure a longer and higher-quality life.
